One task for #I4Ed was to explore the power of infographics. Infographics can transform a content into a captivating visual experience. They're an excellent tool to put your information out there in an appealing and consumable format. As educators, infographics can be a great way to captivate your class and digest complicated or drab topics.
Here's a quick round up of some great ed-related infographics to check out:
- Social Media, Social Life: How Teens View their Digital Lives
- The Truth About Cyberbullying
- STEAM, Not Just STEM
- Gamification in Education
- Tips for Emotional Self-Care
Do you see purpose and value in using infographics? Leave me a comment and share your thoughts.
Next was my turn to create an infographic. Today is #BellLetsTalk so let's talk about mental illness and Canada's suicide crisis.
As educators, I think it's particularly important to support students' social/emotional wellness. Want to incorporate some wellness strategies into your classroom? Visit www.smilingmind.com.au for a free comprehensive wellness program plus teacher support. It's okay not to not be okay. Open the dialogue and be kind.
Any of the above surprise you? Have your own story you'd like to share? Let me know in the comments.
PS - #BellLetsTalk isn't just about opening up the dialogue around mental health. Bell is also supporting Canadian mental health initiatives. Showing your support is as easy as watching this humourous clickbait. Every view adds $0.05 to the cause. Got a minute? Enjoy.

I've struggled with depression and anxiety since high school. Through the years, I've acquired a "toolbox" filled with various tools that help me manage, cope and maintain my wellness. I'm pretty open about mental health as highs and lows are a part of everyone's lives. I hope with my transparency that others, particularly my students, will feel comfortable acknowledging their emotions and build their toolbox of strategies, not just to cope but thrive in life.
